Since Demna joined Balenciaga, he spent a lot of time poring through the Balenciaga archives. Cristobal Balenciaga was fascinated with the architecture of clothes. An unfinished coat from Christobal inspired Demna Gvasalia for the silhouettes for the SS17 menswear show. His garments this season were all about shoulders—either expanded a foot sideways to dwarf the models’ own or tugged so tight the swell of the human shoulder distorted the sleeve head.

This shoulder padded boxy bomber jacket is one of the most remarkable pieces from Demnas work at Balenciaga. It was worn by the likes of G Dragon and Luka Sabbat. This is definitely an investment piece!
